Cars "Winds Sweep 4" from the Department of Mechanical Engineering ITS Surabaya, who won the Asia-efficient cars in Malaysia on 7-9 July, will arrive on campus ITS Surabaya on 14 July.
"Mr. Rector with civitas academica and supported friends from the Navy will welcome the arrival of 4 Winds Sweep team," said Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Prof. Herman ITS Saso told AFP in Jakarta, Monday.
In the arena of "Shell Eco-Marathon" (SEM) Asia at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, 7-9 July, he said, the car "Winds Sweep 4" collects the efficiency of 150 kmpl (kilometers per liter).
"Winds Sweep Team 4 beat seven other teams that compete in that class," he said during a report to the Rector Prof. ITS Triyogi Yuwono.
To the same category, he said, the ITS team through the car "Winds Sweep 3" also won the third position with a value of 113 kmpl efficiency.
"For this category, the ITS team become champions, because last year put the Winds Sweep 2 as the most economical car (saving)," he said.
ITS team's victory was more complete after the set as the champion in class "alternative diesel fuel urban concept" for using fuel FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester), aka biodiesel.
"We use biodiesel fuel because it is more environmentally friendly," said Rector Prof. ITS Triyogi Yuwono added.
This year, three-car ITS lowering the Winds Sweep 3, 4, and 5. Winds Sweep three diesel-engined 200 cc, four-engined Winds Sweep 100 cc, and Winds Sweep 5 90 cc four-stroke engine.
"Winds Sweep Engine 5 was homemade arek-arek ITS with the name Paijo-Experiment (PEX) 90 and using homemade control system named IQUTECH-E` alias `iki utekke (this is his brain)," he said.
The result, Winds Sweep 5 entry sequence number 1 8 Asia and Indonesia for gasoline-fueled prototype class.
